He needed time to heal. Time to feel safe. Time to learn that not every animal was a threat. And most of all, time to trust again. When Thor first arrived, he needed his own space. He couldn’t see my animals, let alone share a room with them. He wasn’t ready. And that was okay. So we took it slow. One short interaction. One positive experience. One little victory at a time. And look at him now. Thor is now co-existing with my cats and my dog. What once seemed like a huge hurdle has become part of his everyday life. It hasn’t been a perfectly smooth journey, but every little step has shown us more of the wonderful cat underneath all that uncertainty. And what a cat he is. Thor is incredibly lovable. He loves his humans and absolutely enjoys getting pets and attention. But Thor is also a cat who knows what he wants and when he wants it. His affection comes with his own set of rules, and honestly, that’s part of what makes him Thor. He doesn't need someone to change him. He needs someone who will understand him. I believe Thor could be very happy with a friendly dog or another cat as a companion, provided introductions are slow and respectful. He has shown us that he can learn to trust other animals when given the time and space he needs. But he could also be perfectly content being your one and only. What Thor needs most isn't necessarily another animal. He needs his person. Someone who will be patient with him. Someone who will celebrate the little victories. Someone who will let him come to them on his terms. Someone who will see past his cautious moments and recognize the sweet, affectionate boy underneath. Thor has spent the last two months learning that he can trust. Now I want him to learn something even more important: What it feels like to finally be home. Thor is ready for his forever family. From Thor: Hi, I’m Thor. My world changed in a really big way when my person passed away. She was my whole world. And when she was gone, everything I knew suddenly felt different. My person’s family loved me very much. They came to live with me, along with their furry family members, because they wanted to help me and keep me close. They knew how deeply I was loved. But there was so much change, so fast, and my heart just wasn’t ready. Their pets and I tried. We really did. But we didn’t always see eye to eye. There were disagreements, and eventually my family had to make an incredibly difficult decision. They knew I didn't need more change. I needed a safe place to heal. A quiet place where I could feel secure. A place where I could take things at my own pace and learn that the world was going to be okay again. I know they made that choice because they loved me. And because they loved my person. So I came to live with my foster family. My foster lady understood that I needed time. She didn't force me to be friends with everyone. She let me decide when I was ready. At first, the other animals had to admire me from a distance. I wasn't interested in sharing my space with them. But little by little, things changed. There is a dog here. And you know what? I kind of like that dog. The dog doesn't always want to play when I do, but I've learned that's okay. We can share a space. We can exist together. And I've learned that I don't have to be afraid. Then there are the cats. There are THREE of them! That took me a little longer. But they're nice. They welcomed me. They even let me play with their toys and share their human. I've learned that other animals can be okay. I've learned that I can trust again. And I've healed. I'm ready. As much as I love my foster family and appreciate everything they've done for me, there is something I really want. I want my own human again. I want someone who will be my person. Someone I can love. Someone who understands that I may need a little time to settle in, but once I give you my trust, I'm going to give you my whole heart. Because that's what I do. I love deeply. I know what it's like to lose my person. And I'm ready to find my forever person. I may have been through heartbreak, but I'm not broken. I'm Thor. I'm sweet. I'm affectionate. I'm playful. I'm a little opinionated about how I like things done. And I have a very big purr and an even bigger heart. My foster lady has watched me come out of my shell, and she knows there is so much love left in me. Now I just need someone who wants to take that love home. Could you be my person? I'm ready to be someone's beloved cat again. I'm ready for my forever. I'm ready to come home.
