About Pooh Bear
Pooh Bear is one happy, cuddly pup! Born at the beginning of July, Pooh is currently in a foster home with his sister, Roo. His foster family has three dogs ranging from 10–80 lbs, children ages 10 and 14, and even a cat, so he is getting lots of experience with different people and pets. Pooh is expected to grow into a handsome, stocky boy weighing around 50–60 lbs. Pooh loves playing with his sister, chasing a toy, or romping with the Chihuahua in his foster home. But when playtime is over, his favorite place is right in your lap. He is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and eager to learn. He is already picking up his training quickly and knows sit, touch, and “eyes on me.” Pooh loves everyone he meets, dogs, people, and kids. He is always ready to make a new friend and is respectful of the senior dogs boundaries. Pooh came to Starfish from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky, so he is still learning that he never has to worry about where his next meal is coming from. He has no problem with people being around or touching his food, but he doesn't appreciate his sister trying to take it. He does great sharing treats and toys. His future family should simply be patient and continue helping him build confidence around mealtimes. At night, Pooh currently sleeps with his sister in a playpen, although if given the choice, he would much rather snuggle up with his person! Pooh is also working hard on his potty training and is making progress every day. He is a puppy so we are still learning the difference between furniture and toy. This sweet boy would thrive with a family committed to continuing his training and helping him grow into the wonderful adult dog he is meant to be. With his affectionate personality, love of people, and eagerness to learn, Pooh Bear is going to be one very handsome and loving boy. The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *Please note that we are a foster home-based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.
