About Dakota

✨ UPDATE!! MEET DAKOTA! ✨ Meet Dakota! This adorable little guy came to us from a local overcrowded shelter and has settled beautifully into foster care! Dakota is a 3–4-month-old Terrier mix weighing just 4 lbs. Based on his current size, we believe he may be around 10–15 lbs. as an adult, but with mixed-breed puppies, adult size is always our best guess. This little guy is SO sweet, playful, and great with other dogs! He’s enjoying foster life, playing with his furry friends, and showing everyone what a happy little pup he is. Dakota is UTD, neutered, and READY for his forever home! Our adoptions are NOT first come, first served, and there is NO fee to apply! We work to find the home that is the best match for each individual animal. We never state that any animal is fully house-trained. New environments, situations, families, and routines can lead to accidents—even with the most well-trained animals. Puppies especially will need continued potty training, socialization, and guidance as they grow. ADOPTION FEE: $195 The adoption fee includes a vet check, age-appropriate vaccinations (at least 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm testing if over 6 months old, rabies vaccination if at least 16 weeks old, and spay/neuter. All puppies will be altered before adoption. As part of our rescue policy, all healthy and adoptable dogs over 8 weeks old and 2 lbs. will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. We have researched pediatric spay/neuter extensively and discussed it in depth with multiple veterinarians. From a rescue standpoint, this is an essential part of our efforts to prevent unwanted litters. There are no exceptions to this policy for healthy, adoptable puppies. Please do not request an extension on spay/neuter, as one will not be granted. ❤️ Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue is an ALL-VOLUNTEER rescue. Please allow our volunteers time to respond to inquiries and applications. Thank you for your patience and understanding! Let’s find this sweet boy the forever family he deserves! ✨
