About Gunnar

Gunnar came to us the way a lot of tough-luck kittens do. He was brought to one of our volunteer's homes late one night because he was found as a stray and not walking normally, so straight to the vet he went first thing the next morning. X-rays showed a broken back leg that had already started healing on its own. Because of his tiny size and the stage of healing, the vet chose not to splint it. He also had a huge distended belly, but this was because of his broken leg - he was unable to go to the bathroom correctly without it being very painful. Once he was given some pain meds and the leg gently straightened, he got back on his normal schedule quickly. He's had a recheck, and the leg is healing slowly. He's using it and acting fairly normal, but it isn't fully knit together yet, so he needs to stay confined and calm for a while. Regular kitten jumping and running could re-break it, which nobody wants.Otherwise, Gunnar is doing great. He's growing, healthy, sweet, and friendly. He purrs constantly, wants to be held and loved, and is very playful. The vet did note a slight heart murmur. He's still under vet care, and he'll be available for foster-to-adopt very soon. Once he's cleared to be a normal kitten, all those saved-up zoomies are going to come out at once. Applications are open now if you'd like to get ahead of the line.Adoption fee: $75Apply today at www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adoptAdoption includes: spay/neuter, microchip, FVRCP vaccine(s), rabies vaccine, flea prevention, and deworming medication. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application.
