Want a little dog who will be your shadow at home and your copilot on the road? Meet Benny. Benny is a 3-year-old, 13-pound terrier who loves being close to his person. He’ll take his time investigating every good smell on a walk, then come home to curl up in your lap or nap at your feet. He loves pets, brushing, and simply being wherever you are. He especially enjoys little dogs and has generally done well with larger dogs, too, though he appreciates a polite introduction. Benny currently lives peacefully with two calm cats. A fast-moving kitten can catch his terrier attention, so he’ll need slow introductions and supervision with new cats. Road trip buddy? Yes. Harness and buckle Benny in beside you, and he usually settles down to sleep. He has plenty to say about riding in a car kennel. Benny may be shy when you first meet him and prefers a gentle approach, especially around his head. In his foster home, it took about two days for him to decide they were best friends. He’s mostly potty trained but still marks occasionally. He also has separation anxiety and may cry or bark when left alone, so he needs someone willing to keep working with him patiently.
