About Cairo

Cairo (A239614) is a handsome seven-month-old Heeler and Shepherd mix with a playful spirit, lots of puppy charm, and energy to share. With daily exercise, positive outlets, and patient guidance, he can settle into a sweet and loving companion.Cairo enjoys playing with dogs similar in size. His comfort level with smaller dogs is unknown, so introductions should be thoughtful and supervised.Cairo recently enjoyed a short-term foster stay, where he went on hikes with his foster family. They reported that he was potty trained and had no accidents in their home. He will still need time, patience, and consistency as he learns his new family’s routines, house rules, and expectations. At seven months old, Cairo is still very much a puppy and will need supervision in the home, especially while learning what is appropriate to chew. A safe gated area or crate can provide a secure place when direct supervision is not possible. With positive training, he can learn that this is a safe retreat—not a punishment. Appropriate chew toys will help keep his puppy instincts on the right track.Once Cairo has an opportunity to exercise and let off some energy, he can settle down and be a sweet companion.Cairo’s ideal home:-Provides daily exercise and positive outlets for his energy-Offers mental enrichment and reward-based training-Can supervise him and provide appropriate chew toys-Uses a safe gated area or crate as a positive retreat-Will patiently teach him household routines and rules-Will introduce him thoughtfully to other dogsCairo is looking for an active, patient home ready to help him grow into the wonderful adult dog he is meant to be.Cairo's adoption fee is $50.
