Tootsie – Playful, Independent, and Sweet Tootsie is a 4-year-old Chinese Shar-Pei mix weighing 42 pounds. She’s a playful, independent girl. Once she gets comfortable with you, her sweet and silly side comes out. Playful and goofy: Tootsie loves running and tossing her plush toys into the air, and picking them back up for another round. Independent and thoughtful: Tootsie can be a little aloof and is generally more interested in exploring than accepting treats or attention. She may take some time before considering someone part of her inner circle. Affectionate on her terms: Once comfortable, Tootsie may seek out attention and ask for butt scratches. She also enjoys gentle pets around her neck and will come into your hand for affection, although she can be a little skittish if approached too quickly. Gentle treat taker: Tootsie takes treats gently and will happily approach for a snack—even if she leaves you with a little extra slobber in exchange! Tootsie will do best with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with well-matched canine friends.
