Case in point: as a baby he nearly lost an eye, which in true Mr. Bean fashion he handled by simply deciding not to, and if his eye looks a little distinctive in his photos that is because it has been through something and earned the right to look however it wants. He communicates primarily through expression — the slow blink, the meaningful stare, the look of profound offense followed immediately by complete forgiveness — and he has never once needed words to make himself perfectly understood.
