About Chili
Meet ChiliChili is a sweet and sensitive dog who can be nervous when meeting new people, but once given time to feel comfortable, he begins to show his gentle and affectionate side. When approached slowly with soft conversation and treats, Chili gradually gains confidence and has allowed gentle pets. He responds well to a calm, patient handler and does best when given the opportunity to take things at his own pace.Chili would thrive with an adopter who understands shy dogs and can provide a calm, secure environment where he can decompress and gain confidence. He will need a securely fenced environment and continued positive, patient guidance as he learns to feel safe and comfortable.Because of his history with horses and chickens, Chili will need a placement with no access to livestock or small animals.Chili may not be the dog who runs up to you on day one, but give him patience, kindness, and a little time, and you may just earn the trust of a very special dog. He deserves someone willing to see the sweet dog underneath his nervousness and give him the chance to blossom.
