MAMA PENELOPE IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Mama Penelope has finished taking care of her babies, and now it’s finally HER turn to find someone who will love her just as fiercely as she loves her people. ❤️ And when we say fiercely… we mean this girl LOVES HARD. Penelope is incredibly sweet, playful and affectionate. She becomes deeply attached to her person and wants to know where you are, what you're doing, where you're going and why she wasn't invited. She would probably burn the house down trying to find her person if she thought they disappeared. Okay… maybe not literally. But we're not completely ruling it out. A little about Mama Penelope: Absolutely OBSESSED with kids — she adores children and is naturally very protective of them Plays well with other dogs ❤️ Extremely loyal and bonds HARD with her person Sweet, playful and affectionate Goes into her kennel beautifully Was NOT impressed by bath time… until she saw another dog doing it, then she decided she could be brave too She is currently very skittish around men and will need patience, positive experiences and time to build trust Penelope's devotion also means she has some things her future family needs to understand. She can become possessive of her person around other dogs. She may happily play with them, but if another dog approaches the person she's bonded to, she can become protective and try to keep that person to herself. Her adopter will need to be willing to work on boundaries and resource guarding of her favorite human. She also struggles with separation anxiety. When left loose and she knows her person is gone, she can become destructive trying to find them — including attempting to get through windows. For her safety, she is kenneled when nobody is home. She goes into her kennel well, but beds and blankets currently become CONFETTI. Penelope isn't looking for someone who expects a perfectly polished dog on day one. She's looking for someone patient and committed who understands that underneath those behaviors is a girl who attaches deeply to the people she loves. ❤️ With structure, training, reassurance and the right family, this sweet mama has SO much potential.
