About Leela
Animal Information: Leela (and Layla) are an adorable pair of "short stacks" who were found as strays and rescued from the municipal SBC shelter after being at risk due to their length of stay. Now they're ready to find the loving home they deserve! These sweet girls are social, friendly, and enjoy the company of both people and other dogs. Leela is outgoing with people and always eager to make a friend. She wants to play with other dogs but doesn't have a lot of dogging life experience so we're working on her social skills in foster care. She is a puddle pup and loves to play. She's taking to crate training, house training, and basic obedience and -- with a committed human to bond with -- will make a fantastic companion. Foster Profile: Leela has settled in really nicely. Just above knee height and 45lbs, she is the perfect size for adventures. She is a sweet girl with enough get up and go to join you for activities like hiking or running, but she is also a cuddler at home. Leela is house and crate trained, and sleeps quietly in her crate overnight. She has gotten used to her fosters working from home, so that would be her preference, but she would likely be fine with a typical 9-5 if she had another companion or a mid day walker. Leela is young and eager to please. Her leash manners are a work in progress, but she is happy and engaging which makes training fun! We think she will be a wonderful companion for one lucky family here in the PNW. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). She will be transferred via Wigglebutts, arriving to foster care on 6/27 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.
