About Adina
SWEET, SMART & FUN: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 42 lbs. Hello—I'm Adina! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, & I am so happy to be soaking up all the love from the volunteers. Now I'm ready to find a wonderful home of my own with a family to love & be loved by! I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience & learned a lot! I'm in a wonderful foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me. Perhaps it's you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs in the prison/foster training program, & I liked playing with them. I also enjoy playing with the 3 dogs in my foster home that are various ages, genders & sizes, but sometimes I play a little rough. If you have a nice doggie at home already that would be OK with this, let's meet & see if we can be pals. / I haven't interacted with the 2 cats in my foster home directly. I'm not really interested in them. All cats are different, so I'm not sure how I would do with another kitty. / I met two nice boys around 6 years old at Mostly Mutts & did well with them, & I love the 15- & 17-year-olds in my foster home, so a home with kids ages 10 & up could be a good fit for me. Let's meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers describe me as friendly, active, fun, & super sweet. I'm a delightful dog who enjoys being close to people—I even crawled right into a lap while sitting outside on a rock! I'm a perfect angel for my baths & the bather says my coat is beautiful! I'm a sweet, calm soul with a bit of an energetic side, too, & I may sometimes bark when I see people or other dogs while out on walks. My foster says “she is very sweet & we LOVE her!” I love to play in the backyard but need a strong fence to contain my excitement! I can also be a little mouthy at times when I'm playing so make sure to let me know to 'leave it' & have lots of Nylabones to play with instead. I have gone on lots of daytrips with volunteers & my foster & have enjoyed the car rides, walking in the woods & sniffing all the things & even dipping my toes in the water on a hot day, Do you need an adventure buddy? / Energy level: 8-10. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience so I've learned the ‘sit', ‘stay', ‘down', ‘come', ‘drop it', ‘leave it' & ‘place' commands. I also use proper door etiquette & have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. My temp. foster said I got excited with them at first & pulled a bit on my leash & got a little jumpy/mouthy when excited, but listened well & knew my commands so I may just need a little adjustment period to do my best. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs as there are more classes we can take. / I'm doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. I knew the routine well in the off-site foster training program, so I put myself to bed in the evenings after some snuggles when my trainer was winding down. I slept in my crate with the door open. I also do well in my crate in my foster home. / My potty habits were good in the off-site training program. I had a couple of accidents in my foster home when I first got there, but they took me out a little more quickly after meals & then I did well. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I'm a smart girl who likes to stay engaged & love attention & giving affection. I like toys a lot, but the stuffed ones don't stay stuffed long, so let's stick with the hard Nylabone type. I also like going for walks & car rides. I'm sure once I'm settled in my new home, we'll discover so many more things to enjoy together! / I've been nervous of fast movements, loud noises & larger groups of people, lawn mowers, fans & thresholds (like a doorway), but I'm working with my trainer on this. I wasn't a fan of hats in the shelter but it hasn't bothered me in my foster home. Other than that, like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, & training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped & spayed. Since I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, I came to Mostly Mutts HW positive. Thankfully, I've been treated for it & have completed my rest period. I will have my heartworm re-check in November 2026, so local adoption is best. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet & consider a dental cleaning in the future. I'm a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful family to love & be loved by. My adoption fee is $299.00, & I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.
