About PawPaw
PAWPAW Male, neutered DOB : January 6, 2016 DSH Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines, FIV+ Prefers to be an only cat, untested with dogs, good with kids PawPaw is a distinguished gray tabby gentleman who has fully embraced the good life indoors. Weighing in at a healthy 12 pounds, this handsome boy has the calm, wise energy that only comes with experience—and he’s ready to spend his golden years relaxing with a family of his own. PawPaw earned his name while living as a community cat for many years, where he was the only elder cat among the group. Over time, he completely charmed the caretaker who fed the colony, winning her over with his sweet personality. When she noticed he was having trouble eating, LOVEPAWS stepped in to get him the dental care he needed. After surgery, his caretaker opened her home to foster him—and PawPaw quickly decided that indoor life is exactly where he belongs. These days, PawPaw spends his time doing what he does best: chilling like a king. He’s a very low-key guy who enjoys lounging, quietly observing the world around him, and following his foster mom from room to room like her little shadow. When it’s time for dinner, he’ll politely meow to remind you—his appetite is excellent! After his dental surgery, PawPaw only has his canine teeth and does best eating wet food (or kibble) with a little water/bone broth mixed in, which he happily gobbles up. PawPaw is a gentle soul who likes to take a little time to get to know new people. Once he feels comfortable, he enjoys being picked up and absolutely loves neck scratches. He also has a secret adventurous side—if you give him the opportunity, he may climb up high to survey his kingdom from the top of your cabinets or play with all the mice toys you can give him. This sweet senior would do best as the only cat in the home, where he can soak up all the peace and attention he deserves. His laid-back nature means he should do great with respectful kids. PawPaw is FIV+ . What does this mean? In short, it means he has a weakened immune system which can easily be supported with a supplement to mix in his food. It DOES NOT mean a death sentence. Cats with FIV can live very long and healthy lives and they can live with FIV negative cats, too! FIV cannot be transferred to humans or dogs. Don't let his status deter you from adoption a wonderful companion like PawPaw. He has so much love to give and life to live. Could PawPaw be the gentle companion you’ve been looking for?
