✨ UPDATE!! ✨ ‼️ LONGTIMER ALERT — PLEASE DON’T LET JP KEEP GROWING UP IN FOSTER CARE. ‼️ JP has watched life go by from his foster home while waiting for someone to finally choose him. He came to us as a young dog who needed a second chance, and now, at around a year old, he has spent so much of his life in foster care. He has healed. He has learned. He has blossomed. He has done everything right. And yet, somehow, this incredibly sweet boy is still waiting for a family to call his own. JP doesn’t need much. He just needs someone willing to give a slightly timid boy a little time to feel safe — and in return, they’re going to get one of the biggest lovebugs imaginable. ❤️ One of our amazing vets took JP and his brother in after they came from a not-so-good situation. They received the vetting they needed, and once we were able to secure a foster, JP settled in beautifully. This poor boy initially suffered from terrible flea dermatitis, but he has healed wonderfully and has absolutely blossomed in foster care. JP is a Catahoula/Terrier mix, around 1 year old and approximately 50 lbs. He is truly as sweet as they come! He does great with other animals and kids and has so much love to give. JP can be timid when he first meets someone or enters a new environment, but give him a little patience and time to feel safe and his true personality comes shining through. Once comfortable, he is a total lovebug! His timidness has never shown itself as aggression — he simply needs someone willing to give him the time he needs to settle in and realize he is safe. JP has basically grown up in foster care. He deserves to know what it feels like to belong to someone — not temporarily, but forever. He really is such a wonderful boy. He just needs someone patient enough to let him settle in, get comfortable and show them the incredible dog his foster family already knows and loves. Please don’t let another birthday, another season or another milestone pass with JP still waiting. New environments, situations, families, routines, etc. can lead to accidents, even with the most well-trained animals. All dogs have a $195 adoption fee, which includes a vet check, age-appropriate vaccinations (at least 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies vaccination (if at least 16 weeks), and spay/neuter. ❤️ Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue.
