If you've ever wanted a big, beautiful dog with the sweetest eyes and a goofy heart, meet Kalina. Kalina is a 5-year-old, Bloodhound mix, who is still learning that the world can be a pretty wonderful place. She didn't get the socialization or gentle handling she deserved early in life, so she's understandably shy when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar places. But give this girl a little time to feel safe, and you'll get to see the true Kalina: sweet, playful, goofy, and incredibly loyal. Kalina has a rich, velvety deep-red coat and enormous soulful eyes that seem to look straight into your heart. She's already house trained, gets along with other animals (she has even lived with chickens!), and would actually prefer a house with another social dog to help show her the ropes and give her some extra confidence. She's the kind of dog who may need a little time to trust you, but once she does you've got a friend for life. Kalina is looking for someone who understands confidence is built one small victory at a time.
